Job Description

This accounting manager will support GMPD ( Global Medical Products and Distribution) accounting. The GMPD accounting function is responsible for maintaining core accounting of various areas of the GMPD segment and for conducting review procedures over balance sheet reconciliations prepared by teams outside the accounting function. 


Ideal candidate will be local to Columbus, Ohio with the ability to work a hybrid schedule and come into the Dublin, OH office a couple days a week.

What Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health

Accounting establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, completes technical research, safeguards the organization's assets and ensures accuracy of accounting and financial records in accordance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees team of supervisors who are responsible for work conducted by outsourced staff and maintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that outsourced staff comply with accounting policies and procedures 
  • Assists in the management of the monthly financial close process, including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and performing timely review of results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP. 
  • Oversees general accounting of the GPMD segment distribution network and domestic commercial business, including transportation accruals and customer incentive accruals.
  • Leads review procedures over balance sheet reconciliations prepared by teams outside the accounting function, including conducting scoping, designing review plan, developing training, and supporting finance teams through issue resolution.
  • Performs regular review of accounting processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing under an appropriate control environment.
  • Leads team of supervisors in development of technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives. 
  • Performs or leads special projects and financial analysis to support the business needs as requested.
  • Role requires significant coordination and communication with finance business partners.


Qualifications

  • 6+ years of accounting experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • External audit or financial reporting experience highly desired 

  • CPA preferred

  • Prior supervisory/manager experience preferred

  • Experience with SAP preferred

Anticipated salary range: $103,500-$155,295
