As a Denver Metro Security Professional Armed Security Officer, your primary duty is to ensure the safety and security of client assets, properties, patrons, and employees.

Report writing, foot patrols, vehicle patrols, maintaining a professional demeanor that reflects positively on the organization, and fostering a strong partnership between the client and DMS within the community.
Expected to maintain a high level of awareness, observe and report activities, handle crisis situations calmly and effectively, de-escalate conflicts using verbal communication techniques, and manage use-of-force situations safely and judiciously, including self-defense, defense of a third party, and arrest control.
These responsibilities may necessitate work in various weather, including extreme heat, extreme cold, or blizzard conditions.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This position may require the employee to be inside or outside. Employee may work in unsafe working conditions (i.e. construction zones (PPE will be provided if needed), open areas, areas with potential safety risks.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to lift office products occasionally and supplies, up to 20 pounds and to bend and stand as necessary.
Ability to work in various environments, including inclement weather, occasional lifting or carrying of up to 40 pounds, climbing stairs, ramps, or ladders as needed, and standing or walking on various surfaces for extended periods.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with variable hours. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required. This is an evolving position, weekly, monthly, and to the needs of the Division. Therefore, flexibility is a key element of this position.
Travel
Officers are required to travel to job postings as needed, travel is required and may be up to an hour away from the company office in the local area. Overnight travel to the local area may be required. Officers will be required to complete DMS's 40-hour training at the company office at 1320 Simms Street #100 Lakewood, CO 80401.
Required Education and Experience
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a pre-employment Drug Screen.
Must complete and successfully pass DMS's 40-hour training and fire-arms courses.
Pass an FBI and or CBI Background check, yearly.
Maintain an Armed Denver Merchant Guard License.
Effective written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Ability to handle crises calmly and efficiently.
Reliable transportation to commute to job sites across the Denver metro area.
All officers are required to wear DMS uniforms at all job posts, uniform must be clean and wrinkle free. This will be provided on your hiring date, ensuring that each officer is equipped with the appropriate uniform for every season.
At least 3 years of previous security experience.
Must have a flexible schedule.
Preferred Education & Experience
At least 1 year of armed security experience.
3+ years of security experience (unarmed).
Possess an Armed Denver Merchant Guard License.
Possess a valid CPR certification.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Will be required to pass a physical and mental health screening.
Officers must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation up to an hour away without public transportation.
Must be eligible for and willing to obtain an Armed Denver Merchant Guard License.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain a valid CPR Certification.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States and must possess a valid driver’s license.
