Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled attorney with private equity and M&A experience to join a leading law firm in Chicago . The ideal candidate will possess excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role will involve working closely with private equity fund and portfolio company clients, supporting key transaction documents, and playing a central role in client matters within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and merger agreements, LLC and LP agreements, and other ancillary transaction documents.
  • Provide ongoing legal support to private equity fund and portfolio company clients on day-to-day matters.
  • Take a lead role in client matters, working closely with business teams and senior attorneys.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver exceptional service to clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in private equity and M&A, with strong drafting and negotiating skills.
  • Previous experience working with private equity sponsors is required.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound business judgment and work collaboratively with clients and team members.
