Job Description

The HT Group is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our client in Orange, Texas. This is a full-time 40-hour, hybrid role option, requiring at minimum of 20 hours per week to be worked in the office. The position is a one-year contract with a salary range of $40,000 to $50,000 annually.

Responsibilities:

• Write clear, concise, and compelling content, applying corporate journalism techniques to communicate technical concepts
• Create engaging editorial content for the company’s website and social media platforms
• Develop a foundational understanding of the petrochemical/energy sector, and interview experts to simplify complex information into accessible content for a general audience
• Participate in photo and video shoots on behalf of the company, collaborating with creative vendors to achieve the company’s communication objectives

Requirements:

• Communications degree with 3-5 years of experience in journalism, corporate/business communications, or public relations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) – required
• Graphic design experience (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) – a plus
• Must work at minimum 20 hours each week in Orange, Texas at client office
• Must provide writing samples upon request
