Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated dental assistant to join our team. We are a small Family Dental practice. We see patients of all ages and for all types of procedures. We are open Mon-Thurs 8-5pm and some Fridays 8-2pm. We need someone who is willing to adopt our mission, vision and core values. 

We need someone who is organized and takes pride in their work. We will need you to be reliable and dependable. You will need to be willing to follow direction and be an effective part of a team. We are and will expect you to be dedicated to providing positive experiences to our patients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet patients as they enter the office
• Make patients feel welcome while in the office
• Prepare operatories, instruments and equipment for patient treatment
• Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
• Sterilize instruments according to regulations
• Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
• Undertake lab tasks as instructed
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
• Collecting and updating dental/medical histories with patients
• Collect and record vital signs
• Keep clinical areas clean and well-stocked
• Maintain accurate patient records 
• When necessary, assist dentists in the management of medical and dental emergencies
• Monitor and stock dental supply inventory

Requirements:

• Successful completion of legitimate Dental Assisting Program
• Proven experience as a dental assistant
• Current CPR, Radiographs and Coronal polishing certificates (EFDA is a plus)
• Working knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Trained in HIPAA regulations
• Must be proficient at: Radiographs, intraoral photos, clinical records, temp crowns, retraction cord, impressions, dentures, RCT, Fillings, Exams and hygiene
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish 
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be well-organized and reliable
