We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual as the Director of Discipleship & Family Ministry. This role will be the coordinator of discipleship program connecting all ages. We recognize the importance of spiritual growth and development of our children, youth, and adults using Scripture as our guide. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape our programs and initiatives at all age levels, fostering an environment of love, learning, and faith. This role will develop the future of our church, utilizing our volunteer base, while focusing on Biblical principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for Discipleship & Family Ministry, aligning it with the overall mission and values of Abundant Life.
• Select curriculum and procure and research necessary material to implement teachings.
• Oversee and organize all aspects of family ministry including Sunday school (Life Groups), children’s church, Wednesday night classes (i.e. Life Groups, RA’s, GA’s, etc.), vacation bible school, kids camp, and special events.
• Supervise the acquisition and maintaining criminal background checks for everyone working in any capacity with students under the age of 18.
• Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of Discipleship and Family Ministry programs and activities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to parents, equipping them with resources and support to nurture their children’s spiritual growth.
• Collaborate with other church leaders to coordinate intergenerational activities and events.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for Discipleship & Family Ministry, ensuring the responsible use of resources.
• Regularly evaluate and assess the effectiveness of programs and adjust as necessary to meet the needs of our church and community.
• All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• Preferred degree in a related field such as religious studies, Christian education, or family ministry. Experience in lieu of a degree will be strongly considered.
• Proven experience in working with children, youth, adults, and families, preferably in a religious or faith-based context.
• Deep understanding and commitment to Christian teachings, values, and beliefs, especially those that align with the articles of faith, constitution, and by-laws of Abundant Life Baptist Church.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, parents, and volunteers.
• Experience and eagerness to utilize technology in various forms to lead teachings and organize volunteers.
• A team player mentality, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the Pastor, volunteers, and community members.
• Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for creating engaging and meaningful experiences for children, youth, adults, and families with the focus of growing the Kingdom and spreading the Gospel.
