Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and motivated entry-level instructional task lead to help develop, convert, and deliver online courses for a new micro-credential certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines. This grant-funded position will support a program designed to enhance skills in environmental, metallurgical, mining, and geological engineering. You will work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and have the opportunity to shape the future of online education in technical fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Delivery: Teach advanced undergraduate and graduate-level online courses for the micro-credential certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines (e.g., environmental, metallurgical, mining, geological engineering).
Collaboration: Act as a key point of contact between subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other team members to create and convert technical content for the program.
Instructional Design: Work with instructional designers to implement national best practices for online asynchronous delivery, ensuring high-quality, interactive learning experiences.
Quality Assurance: Review and align curriculum to meet both university quality standards and federal requirements for online education delivery.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of educational practices and strategies that improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental engineering, or related fields).
Strong written and oral communication skills in a technical context.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multi-disciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in a relevant STEM discipline.
Experience as a lecturer, instructor, or graduate teaching assistant in higher education, or as a presenter in professional development workshops.
Previous experience teaching or training STEM courses, either in a university or industrial setting.
Experience delivering online STEM courses.
Familiarity with national best practices for online asynchronous learning.
Experience teaching adult learners or non-traditional students.
