Field Service Engineer
The company has the exclusive service subcontract of Hyundai Global Service America which subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co, Ltd. Hyundai Heavy Industries has a world leading range of capabilities in the marine and offshore market, diesel engine and other machinery.
We're specialized on engine and other machinery service and maintenance of Hyundai Heavy Industries' Products.
Summary:
Responsible for supervising and leading mechanical overhauls, repairs and executing the service solutions in compliance with customer specifications and contractual agreements. This includes planning, designing tools, machines, and other engine components
Travel Requirements: This position may require travel domestically and internationally to support the company's goals and objectives. This is expected to be approx. 95%.
Responsibilities:
-Reads and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
-Supervises the installation, overhaul and repair of main engine.
-Consults with customer or supervisor to plan layout of equipment.
-Consults with purchaser regarding the sequence of steps in installation, inspection, start-up, dismantling, or repair of products.
-Studies customer blue blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
-Interprets drawings. Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs.
-Installs or oversees installation of equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
-Operates system to demonstrate equipment and to analyze malfunctions.
-Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of mechanical engineering and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
-Instructs and directs workers in servicing and repairing equipment.
-Consults with customers to explain features and on the features and function of products.
-Consults with manager to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
-Supervises workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
-Researches, designs, evaluates, installs, operates, and maintains mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
-Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
-Recommends designs modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
-Conducts research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
-Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university; or ten or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Good communication skills including reporting skills and listening skills.
-Strong leadership qualities needed.
-Knowledge of large bore, medium speed diesel engines such as: HiMSEN, MAN, Wartsila, and Rolls Royce.
-Ability to use diesel engine diagnostic equipment.
-Ability to contribute a positive and motivated environment.
-Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
