A leading utility provider located in New York, NY is looking for a Functional Tester for a contract position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Design and develop test cases/scenarios for all types of testing (usability, regression, functional, integration, performance, UAT and unit).
Support the test lead in authoring test plans.
Analyze business requirements and engage Test Lead and project team on issues that may impact designing a testable solution.
Conduct test execution and prepare reports on test progress and regression. Raise issues, risks and dependencies and identify assumptions.
Defect and issue identification, logging, tracking, resolution and reporting.
Executes manual test cases and develops and initiates automated test scripts and creates and manages any resulting defects.
Drive the testing efforts and participates in the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC)
Verify the quality of the requirements, including testability, requirements definition, test design, test-script and test-data development, test automation, test-environment configuration; test-script configuration management, and test execution
Test planning, including development of testing goals and strategy
Create and execute test plans and scripts, based on defined business requirements and acceptance criteria
Maintain the Test Traceability Matrix (tracing the test procedures to the test requirements)
Educate customers and project team about User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Facilitate meetings with stakeholders throughout the testing process
Review and validate UAT test results.
Identify opportunity for automated testing and execute where applicable and beneficial
Create detailed test plans and test cases for applications (Salesforce ).
Perform functional and regression testing.
Record and track defects, and work with the development team to resolve them.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity within applications.
Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback.
Provide regular updates on testing activities and results to the project team and management.
Must have Technical Skills:
Data Quality Assurance
Familiarity with agile principles and frameworks
Familiarity with Automation testing
Knowledge of Salesforce Testing

Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in a small team environment.
Education: A bachelor s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in software testing, with specific experience in Salesforce testing preferred.
