Job Posting: Immigration Paralegal
Location : Queens, NY
Salary : $80,000 - $125,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview :
Our established law firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our team in Queens. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of U.S. immigration law and be proficient in handling a variety of immigration cases, including family-based petitions, employment-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, and removal defense.
Responsibilities :
* Assist attorneys in preparing, drafting, and filing petitions, applications, and supporting documents with USCIS, the Department of Labor, and other relevant government agencies.
* Manage case files from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are kept informed of case progress.
* Conduct legal research on immigration issues and policies.
* Prepare forms such as I-130, I-485, I-140, I-130, I-864, N-400, and more.
* Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary documentation.
* Attend client meetings and provide support in legal consultations.
* Organize and maintain client files in a well-structured manner.
* Assist with trial preparation and filings for immigration court cases (if applicable).
Qualifications :
* 2+ years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal.
* Knowledge of U.S. immigration law and procedures.
* Familiarity with USCIS, DOS, and other immigration-related agencies.
* Strong experience with immigration forms and petitions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Paralegal certification preferred (e.g., NALA or NALS) but not required.
* Fluency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
