Podcast Producer for SMWKD Podcast

Position Title: Podcast Producer
Reports To: Podcast Host/Executive Producer
Employment Type: Part-Time/Contract
Location: Remote

Position Summary
The Podcast Producer will oversee the production of the SMWKD (Strategic Moves with Kenn Dowell) Podcast, ensuring seamless execution of each episode. The ideal candidate will be responsible for content planning, audio and video production, guest coordination, and maintaining high-quality standards for the podcast. This position requires strong technical skills, creativity, organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of storytelling in the podcasting medium.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development and Planning:

• Collaborate with the host to develop episode topics and create engaging content tailored to the podcast’s target audience.
• Research and prepare briefs for the host and guests, ensuring relevant and impactful discussions.
• Coordinate with the social media team to align podcast themes with promotional campaigns.

Production and Technical Operations:

• Manage the recording process, ensuring high-quality audio and video production.
• Edit and finalize episodes, adding music, sound effects, and other enhancements.
• Manage live streams and virtual calls during episodes, using platforms like EVMux.
• Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to ensure seamless recordings.

Guest Coordination:

• Liaise with guests to schedule appearances and ensure they are briefed on episode topics.
• Handle logistical arrangements for virtual or in-person recordings.

Promotion and Audience Engagement:

• Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional content, including teaser clips, show descriptions, and visuals.
• Track audience analytics and suggest strategies to grow the podcast's reach.
• Assist in crafting email campaigns to promote episodes and events.

Administrative and Organizational Tasks:

• Maintain a production calendar, ensuring deadlines are met for recording, editing, and publishing.
• Organize and archive raw and final podcast files for easy access.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in podcast production or a related field.
• Proficiency in audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Final Cut Pro, Audacity).
• Familiarity with live streaming platforms and podcast hosting platforms.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of current trends in podcasting, politics, culture, and community advocacy is a plus.

Working Hours:
Flexible hours with availability during recording sessions and for timely response to communication within 24 hours.
