What We Are Looking For We seek a passionate and well-rounded Project Accountant with 2+ years of postgraduate experience and a degree in accounting. This role would be pivotal in ensuring project financials are managed accurately and in real-time, helping maintain project profitability and operational efficiency across the firm.
In this position, you will be involved in all aspects of project accounting, including budget setup and oversight, billing and invoicing, project-specific financial reporting and analysis to support management in project decision-making, and compliance and audit readiness.
As part of our collaborative office culture, you will work closely with principals, project managers, consultants, clients, and other team members through regular meetings and one-on-one discussions.
Key Qualifications include:
- A professional degree in accounting or a related field.
- 2 plus years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using project accounting software (Deltek, Unanet, or similar).
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis, cost tracking, and building financial models.
- Knowledge of Revenue Recognition Standards.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) Accounting Practices a plus.
Where Will You Work This position is based in Boston, with the expectation of in-office work. As you grow into the role, there may be opportunities for increased workplace flexibility.
What We Offer Jones Payne provides a salary range of $67,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience, and offers comprehensive benefits promoting financial, personal, professional, and community wellness. Key benefits include:

Eligibility Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and either be local to the Boston area or willing to relocate. Preference will be given to local candidates.
