Position: Radiation Therapist

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $88,296.00 - $124,675.00 annually

Signing Bonus: $1,500

Relocation Package: Partial

Position Overview

HireNow Staffing is looking for a dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our client's team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in radiation therapy, including simulating treatment setups, performing dosimetric calculations, and applying radiation therapy treatments. This position is key to providing exceptional care and ensuring patients receive the necessary treatments in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Treatment Setup & Delivery:
  • Simulate treatment setups according to physician instructions.
  • Accurately deliver prescribed radiation therapy to patients.
  • Perform dosimetric calculations under the supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
  • Assist with Brachytherapy procedures.
• Equipment & Safety Management:
  • Warm up treatment machines and check all safety and operational procedures.
  • Report any erratic machine operations to the physicist.
  • Ensure proper laser positioning and alignment.
  • Verify doses through barometer and thermometer measurements, addressing discrepancies with the physicist.
• Patient Care & Safety:
  • Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies and safety procedures.
  • Promote compassionate and personalized patient experiences.
• Professional Development:
  • Promote personal and professional growth by fulfilling continuing education requirements.
  • Act as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
• Other Duties:
  • Additional duties as assigned to support the department and organizational goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy Technology
• Licensing/Certifications:
  • Certified Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiation Therapy Technologists (ARRT-T)
  • Licensed by the Texas Department of Health (CMRT)
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in radiation therapy
• Skills:
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients safely
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Nice-to-Haves:

• 3+ years of experience as a Radiation Therapist

Shift

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
