Job Description

Summary

The Hsu Lab in the Department of Integrative Physiology at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive individuals to join our research team. The lab focuses on utilizing embryonic lethal mouse strains from the Knockout Mouse Project to identify genes essential for normal embryo and placenta development and their role in adverse pregnancy outcomes. The Research Assistant II will play a key role in supporting the lab’s research operations, including coordinating experiments, managing data, and facilitating collaborations with other investigators. The Research Assistant should have a strong background in research administration, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to support interdisciplinary research efforts. This is a part-time position with 16/hours week. 

Job Duties

  • Maintains organization of large-scale imaging datasets and facilitate data sharing through the lab’s public repositories.
  • Coordinates and manages research activities that includes experimental scheduling, protocol compliance, and resource allocation.
  • Oversees regulatory and compliance documentation (IACUC, IRB, and biosafety protocols).
  • Compiles data and literature reviews to assist with manuscript and grant preparation for the PI.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field. 
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in research coordination, laboratory management, or grant administration.
  • Has strong background in research administration, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to support interdisciplinary research efforts.
