Description Our client, a mission-driven organization in the non-profit sector, is seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in revenue recognition and will support the organization's financial needs to ensure sustainable program impact. Responsibilities: + Manage and oversee all revenue recognition processes in compliance with GAAP. + Record and reconcile revenue transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Prepare monthly journal entries related to deferred revenue, accruals, and adjustments. + Monitor grant and donor reimbursement processes for timely revenue collection. + Collaborate with program teams to track restricted and unrestricted revenue. + Support planning and execution of annual audits, particularly as they relate to revenue. + Analyze donor contracts and agreements for proper revenue classification. + Develop and maintain detailed account reconciliations and documentation. + Assist in preparing financial reports for stakeholders, including management and board members. + Recommend process improvements to optimize revenue accounting procedures. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 3-5 years of accounting experience, including revenue accounting (non-profit experience preferred). + Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles. + Experience with fund accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Blackbaud, Sage Intacct). + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.). + Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. + Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. + CPA certification or progress toward CPA designation is a plus. + Familiarity with grant and donor contract structures is highly desirable.
