Job Description

Sciens Innovations is looking for a Software Engineer (SWE)to support a Mission Focused program in Fort Meade, MD area. The Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems. These systems may include processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The Software Engineer will work independently or as part of a team, utilizing appropriate software development methodologies and tools to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development & Maintenance :
• Design, develop, and enhance software to meet system requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Modify software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
• System Integration & Testing :
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop and execute test procedures for software components.
• Analyze system performance standards to ensure functionality.
• Requirements Analysis :
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance criteria.
• Perform hardware/software trade-offs and incorporate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions as applicable.
• Algorithm & Database Development :
• Design and implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
• Develop and implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance standards.
• Create simple data queries for existing or proposed data repositories.
• Documentation & Process Improvement :
• Write, review, and improve software and system documentation.
• Provide recommendations to enhance documentation and software development process standards.

Qualifications

• Experience :
• Experience with system flow analysis, data usage, and investigation of problem areas.
• Education :
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required for this role.
• Clearance
• Active TS/SCI with Fullscope Polygraph is requireed

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in software design and performance analysis.
• Experience designing, developing, and modifying software using scientific and mathematical methods.
• Familiarity with integrating software systems and optimizing performance in diverse operating environments.

Compensation for this role: 

• Starting Compensation for this role is $105,000 and can reach as high as $267,000 based upon years of experience, education, and qualifications.
