The role of this position is to support the Appraiser’s Office with the annual capture of street level curbside imagery of all improved parcels. Assist the Personal Property Division with annual valuation and asset maintenance. Assist the Residential and Agricultural Division with the annual database maintenance project. This position also supports other functions needed for the office to meet all statutory and compliance timelines and requirements. This is accomplished through properly applied mass appraisal techniques in accordance with the State of Kansas Statutes and the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Property Valuation (PVD), directives and guidelines, office policies and procedures, and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must successfully pass the following courses within three years of hire date: International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Course 101 – Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal, Kansas Property Tax Law, Orion Introduction and Overview of Basic Functionality.Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid U.S. driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must have a properly registered and licensed passenger vehicle to use on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of mass appraisal experience. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or Real Estate. At least one mass appraisal designation: Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE), Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES), Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS), Mass Appraisal Specialist (MAS), or Registered Mass Appraiser (RMA) required.
