Job Title: Basic Mechanic - Heavy Equipment and Diesel Engines
Location : Whiteville, NC

Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Basic Mechanic with knowledge in diesel engines and heavy equipment. This position requires a hands-on individual with experience in operating, maintaining, and transporting a variety of heavy machinery, including forklifts, man lifts, excavators, and dozers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for basic maintenance, picking up, and dropping off equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy machinery such as forklifts, man lifts, excavators, and dozers.
• Diagnose minor mechanical issues and implement repairs or recommend further action.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and ensure machinery is in safe and operable condition.
• Pick up and drop off heavy equipment at various job sites as directed.
• Ensure equipment is properly loaded, secured, and transported in compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Adhere to safety standards and company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Basic mechanical knowledge of diesel engines and heavy machinery operation.
• Skills : Ability to diagnose issues with engines and hydraulic systems; basic troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license; forklift and heavy equipment certification preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various outdoor conditions.

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, with some weekends as needed.

Compensation:
Starting pay at 15.00 - 20.00 per hour, with benefits after a probationary period.
