We are seeking an energetic and results-oriented Sales Representative to join our team and drive revenue for Today's Dietitian, a premier brand under Great Valley Publishing. This role involves selling advertising space in print and digital formats, securing event sponsorships, and developing partnerships for continuing education programs.

Familiarity with the nutrition industry is not required, but enthusiasm for selling within the wellness space is essential. The wrong person is someone rigid in their ways or resistant to learning new techniques, as we have found that success in unrelated sales roles does not easily transfer without the right mindset. Responsibilities (tasks associated with the role)

  • Advertising Sales: Sell advertising space across Today’s Dietitian’s print magazine and digital platforms, including display ads, digital banners, and native content placements.
  • Sponsorship Sales for Events & Webinars: Identify and secure sponsorships for Today’s Dietitian Symposium and other virtual or in-person events, including exhibit spaces, branded sessions, and title sponsorships.
  • Continuing Education Sponsorships: Develop and sell customized sponsorship packages for continuing education initiatives, aligning them with client marketing objectives.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Research potential clients, network within the wellness space, and conduct outbound outreach to build a strong sales pipeline and convert leads into revenue.
  • Sales Strategy & Collaboration: Develop sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets. Collaborate closely with marketing, editorial, and event planning teams to create compelling sponsorship packages.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Track sales activities and provide regular revenue forecasts, market insights, and performance updates to management.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate advertising rates, sponsorship fees, and contract terms to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.

Requirements (expected proficiencies to excel in this role)

This position is for a person who is:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in sales, ideally in media, advertising, or event sponsorships.
  • Skills and Expertise:
    • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
    • Knowledge of media sales and event sponsorships, with a passion for the wellness industry.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Work Style:
    • Open-minded, adaptable, and eager to learn new sales techniques.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Available to travel twice per year: May and October

Offer Details

  • Base Salary +   Commission: Graduated commission structure with increasing rates based on performance
